[CL] Corsair Announces New Hydro Series H100i and H80i Flagship Liquid CPU Coolers - Page 24

OK I got a report of a GOOD ONE, a member here at OCN from Norway, has done PSU hookup and let the pump run for 2hours and all is just fine he says. Yep the first report of a nice quiet unit, whew!

I tried the H100i just using the PSU's SATA connection for 2 hours (block not connected to a motherboard, yet), it didn't seem to have a problem. To start with it "gurgled" a little when I had the radiator and block sitting on cardboard on the floor, but when I elevated the radiator higher than the block by sitting it on a box, I will admit it was quiet - my H100i seems fine - for now! I may try leaving it connected and running for a few days while I'm at work, I'm concerned this is a short-lived success, based on reports of grinding from other H100i users.

I dont think I am going to upgrade unless there is a decent upgrade in cooling performance, my h100 is quiet and keep my cpu nice and cool, but cooler would be nice biggrin.gif

I'll just stick to my EK block, XSPC 480rx and Noiseblocker fans, but thanks anyway Corsair.

gurgling noises when you start a cooler like this is pretty much normal. Expect more gurgling when you start it up in your system for the first time. Disconcerting, yes.

Even my H50 gurgles for a second or two when it starts up, with the occasional quiet gurgle while running (probably because of my weird setup with the hoses going up out of the block, down again through the I/O panel, and then over to the radiator)

Most WC systems do it, I know my sig-rigs one did.

edit: I just saw that newegg actually has posted the specs.

Secondary question... Does anyone know of the performance comparison between the h100 and the h100i?
