There has been one documented report, so please don't perpetrate a rumor without backing it up. Any product can come with defects - that's why there are so many DoA reports overall on things like motherboards, graphics cards, faulty RAM, etc. It happens.

That said yes there are bound to be a few lemons so to speak. The real question is......will Corsair learn from them or will they ignore the situation like they did with the H100.

Only time will tell.
I have been googling this cooler 2-3 times a day since its release, waiting for reviews to pop up, and have yet to see anything but that one thread on the Corsair forum with one report of a faulty noisy unit (and it's been linked here already). That thread also contains the following post:
Quote:
Spoken with two enthusiasts so far that received their new H100i Hydro Coolers and they are having zero noise issues, running perfectly quiet, amazingly silent. Mine is on a UPS truck travelling from California across the country, and the dude is probably parked at a Super 8 right now eating waffles instead of driving my H100i over to me.

Will let you guys know some results and thermals Wednesday.

Source

Like I said, if you would like to bring more reports to our attention, please do so. References are very important in science and technology for peer-review and to stop misinformation, so don't get angry with my reply asking for sources.

I just watched the video again and noticed the 50mm fan and I'd be real curious to know if it's hitting something with the blades. Because that is exactly what the grinding noise sounds like to me anyway.

According to user reports these new units suffer from the exact same "Grinding" noises that plagued the original Hydro Series.

Corsair needs to smarten up and listen to its consumers oh how to fix their own products.....YET AGAIN. mad.gif

My delivery date is still showing Wednesday, yet the H100i was just scanned at location just an hour away. That usually means its Out for Delivery the next day. So it's possible I will have my H100i tomorrow around 1pm Eastern Standard.

Let you guys know.

Have 3 sets of fans to test on the cooler. Four if I count the old H100 stock fans never used.

- First I’m gonna test it right out of the box, with the stock TIM and stock fans just as Corsair intended.

- Then mount some Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition fans.

- Then wipe off stock Dow-Corning TIM from the CPU block, apply some Noctua NT-H1 using the central 3/5ths in line with die method, and add 2 Noctua NF-F12 PWM fans. I’m guessing the best results will come last. That's how it worked out last time.

Not to mention that compressed air is $5-10 a can depending on the size of the can.

Ignore the Vacuum in the name, it blows, not sucks. And does it ever blow. You'll never need canned air again. biggrin.gif
