Corsair AX860 and AX760 PSUs – 80 PLUS Platinum Efficiency and Ultra Low-noise
In addition to the new digital power supplies, Corsair is also revamping the traditional analog AX Series line with new AX860 and AX760 models. The new models include 80 PLUS Platinum certification, providing up to 90% energy-efficiency, and significantly lower noise levels. The new AX PSUs do not spin their fans until operating at over 60% (AX860) and 70% (AX760) of their maximum power ratings, eliminating fan noise for most common computing tasks.
Pricing and Availability
The new PSUs will be available beginning in November from Corsair’s worldwide network of authorized distributors and resellers. They are supplied with a limited 7-year warranty and are backed up by Corsair’s highly regarded customer service and technical support.
Prices in the United States are listed below:
AX860i $249.99 USD
AX760i $229.99 USD
AX860 $219.99 USD
AX760 $199.99 USD

a bit to the expensive side no?

Just got an AX750 recently, not too bummed that I missed out on this. The AX750 is already a great PSU, and these new ones are expensive as heck.

Looks like very nice PSU's, but a bit on the expensive side.PSU software it mainly a gimmick to me IMO. I could get a seasonic platinum 760 that easily undercuts the price of the the ax760.

My AX750 was something like $170 I believe. I'm not bothered by the prices of these.

Well I think I'm due for a pointless "upgrade" or two. AX860i will likely be one.

Really nice units but not for that price. If you want efficiency and low noise the seasonic fanless units might be a better choice. Still, I love the zero noise love that corsiar and seasonic are giving enthusiast grade PSUs. About a year ago you couldn't find a fanless unit over 150 watts if you tried, now it looks like they might be everywhere.
