In a nutshell, I'm a long time fan and things just keep on getting worse for the franchise as the iPhone generation has plagued humanity and in so doing Bethesda stripped the core mechanism of the RPG and Appled the UI for simplicities sake.
Largely, the game had no sense of wonder and exploration resulted in bupkis. It was "dry toast".

typical rpg traditionalist hate. it is necessary to simplify the mechanics of character development in rpgs to create balance (which is why blizz did the same thing in diablo 3). not everyone wants to have to spend a bunch of time on doing the math to figure out the best build. in terms of the actual mechanics of combat, it's more realistic and less broken. sure you can't create custom spell and effects, but that is what made morrowind so broken in the first place. i agree that morrowind is a much more interesting (and larger world) to explore though. but the character customization is sooo broken in that game

i agree that skyrim is definitely too easy, though you can customize the difficulty.

Indd some of the best games I end up playing, are ones I have not really heard of and just pick up off of steam or the store on impulse. Xcom, was a recent one. Never really heard of it or played it and decided to grab it to tide me over for a while. Having an insane amount of fun.

I remember I followed every single bit of news for batman ark city, after loving the first one. Completed it first night it was out , stayed up all night etc etc
It was one of the biggest disappointments ever for me. Won't be buying into hype from now on, that was my fault at the time.

I started playing the game again... I remember what made me stop after 70hrs... The enemies dont scale very well... One moment I am one hitting foes, the next it takes 60 strikes to kill them....
