[TR] Bonfire Night sets internet AFLAME: Anons claim PayPal, Symantec - Page 3

Yea unfortunately 28,000 isn't enough to break the company, so they'll probably just settle with victims out of court and call it "security fee" for the rest of us. (Next time, break it, Mr. Anonymous)

So why not send the information to PayPal rather than leak it on the internet. Now they have put 28,000 people at the mercy of anyone with an internet connection.

So really these guys are the "other hackers", they have exploited it, we are now at risk. Way to go guys.

Because no one does anything about it that way. Most major vulnerabilities you see exploited, the companies knew about them beforehand. The Sony hack, Oracle and the java zero day. It isn't until it becomes public and there is outrage that companies will do something about it. Security costs money, and companies don't want to pay for it.

They might have questionable methods, but they aren't the "other hackers". Anonymous aren't any kind of super hackers. Anything they do, others probably have already done for weeks, months, or even years without anyone knowing. If my information is compromised, I would rather it be publicly known and the issue fixed than people having it quietly for months.

Oh yes, Anon, the ground that attacks major corporations by attacking... Us, the consumers, the ones who the most to lose from having our account and personal info given away, the ones who suffer when we can't access a service we may need/want at any given time, etc.

They're bad guys, it's as simple as that.

I can still argue that Anon knows this is the only way to make companies take action. By causing casualties.

The bad guys are the ones who do it under the radar.

I dont regularly use paypal, so I just removed anything that's attached to my bank account. Better change the password too anyway.

You do not improve airport safety by blowing up an airport.
You do not improve nuclear safety by hijacking nuclear bombs and destroying some cities.
You do not improve fire safety by starting fires.
You do not rob a bank to improve bank security.

You improve safety and security by notifying the relevant authorities and possibly by arranging a demonstration.
If they do not listen, then notify other authorities, including journalists.
If no one still listens, then it seems your concerns do not deserve attention.

Victory and Success at any cost or loss is EVIL.

Victory and Success at any cost or loss is EVIL.

Though morally sound, your theories are still contrary to what history shows.
