Yes thats normal.

After it tightens it should be perfectly tight.

But in the odd event you feel this is not tight enough for you you can add some thin nylon washers like this to see if it helps.

Thanks man, I did not installed it yet because I am afraid I got a defective screws. How many washers did you used? Going to try it 1st without washers. Does anyone has the same issues and used it without washers with no problem?

I had it installed without the washers at first with no issues. I tried the washers to see if it would make any difference but it did not. I figure unless your motherboard is out of spec and is too thin or somethiing it should be fine.

Corsair should update the instructions to say that a little bit of play on the backplate is normal until the pump is attached, then everything is snugged down.

So, until I installed the pump and tighten it down the bracket will remaine a bit loose.

Yes.

This is normal.

Once you install the pump and tighten it go to your back plate and you will see it is no longer loose (has a bit of play) and that it is nice and tight up against the back of the motherboard.thumb.gif

Thanks! Now all I need is my motherboard replacement, my new mobo keeps on freezing on windows had to send it back for replacement. A crappy from from asus for a $300 board. What a shame.

Usually it feels a little firmer if you tighten it more, but it will always be able to turn relatively easy because it is flat and the thermal paste when wet acts as a lubricant letting it move easily. But after a while when the paste sets and hardens it will be fine, I would suggest making it center then applying slight pressure to push out an air pockets then leave it alone unless you get bad temps! thumb.gif

Ok to all the haters for me using my H100i Modded for a water block with a custom paralleled setup, here are the results= With the pump at low speed 5 volts it is 33C at Idle and only 38C with max load! biggrin.gif
