I got a phenom 955 for free from someone, the caveat being a bunch of bent pins (which i've fixed) and 4 broken pins.
I'm aware some pins might be redundant (like ground i suppose) but 4 pins is quite a few, and I don't exactly want to apply and reapply thermal past as I figure it out (and i dont have much thermal paste left anyways).
So. How to fix this issue?
I'm thinking of finding an old chip from a local store or someone, and just breaking some pins off and sticking it into the am3 socket (but what kind of chip is allowable to do this? i dont exactly want to buy an athlon ii here just to break a pin off). There's some youtube videos with success doing this. Or, maybe I could get some wire (but what kind?) and just stick it in there...
Or maybe like a jeweler or someone could repair it? I called a few jewelers, but they all seemed to be a bit bewildered by my request...
Please, I only want solutions, not dumb posts. I wasnt the person who broke them, and I got the CPU for free from someone on the internet who I've never met.
The pins missing are H2, AL3, AL4, and AK30. I couldn't find what these pins actually do or a phenom ii pin diagram/layout, I only found something showing what the pins are designated as...
And I only have 1 of the 4 missing pins (ie 3 of 4 of them were already broken upon arrival, 1 of the pins was just smashed down and bent so bad that no way it could have been bent back).
