Fixing Broken Pins - Phenom 955

Thread Starter
I got a phenom 955 for free from someone, the caveat being a bunch of bent pins (which i've fixed) and 4 broken pins.

I'm aware some pins might be redundant (like ground i suppose) but 4 pins is quite a few, and I don't exactly want to apply and reapply thermal past as I figure it out (and i dont have much thermal paste left anyways).

So. How to fix this issue?

I'm thinking of finding an old chip from a local store or someone, and just breaking some pins off and sticking it into the am3 socket (but what kind of chip is allowable to do this? i dont exactly want to buy an athlon ii here just to break a pin off). There's some youtube videos with success doing this. Or, maybe I could get some wire (but what kind?) and just stick it in there...

Or maybe like a jeweler or someone could repair it? I called a few jewelers, but they all seemed to be a bit bewildered by my request...

Please, I only want solutions, not dumb posts. I wasnt the person who broke them, and I got the CPU for free from someone on the internet who I've never met.

The pins missing are H2, AL3, AL4, and AK30. I couldn't find what these pins actually do or a phenom ii pin diagram/layout, I only found something showing what the pins are designated as...

And I only have 1 of the 4 missing pins (ie 3 of 4 of them were already broken upon arrival, 1 of the pins was just smashed down and bent so bad that no way it could have been bent back).

Ive actually seen this done before. They placed the broken pins in the corresponding holes in the socket and the Board actually posted.

Edit: found it, watch this video, he saved a Phenom 2 720

ive done this before as well, i had an old 2.0 dual core, and broke a pin while inserting it. so i grabbed some cat5/ethernet cable, stripped it and used the thicker copper wiring from it. cut it to correct length, slightly longer than normal pin, and put it in correct hole on mobo, it should only slightly stick out of the hole, just enough were a pair of tweezers could grab it, worked fine for the year i had it.

Edit: So is all ethernet cables made the same? i just ripped one open, and each of the 5 inner cables were made up of about a half dozen copper wires. I mean it seems sturdy enough to be a pin replacement. Does that sound right?

I've been able to boot up. The processor had every single pin bent on the outer 2-3 rows, especially the corners. There were 5 broken pins (3 broken upon arrival, 2 broken because it was bent mangled beyond saving).

I'm currently posting here using this phenom 955. I took copper wire from an ethernet cable that was super super thin (maybe too thin? hope they dont disintegrate due to voltages later on...), made about 2-3mm pieces, stuck it in, then mashed them in with a screwdriver to make sure they wouldn't contact any other pins.

Cpu-z seems to identify the 955. Certain icons aren't appearing in my tray, that could be because maybe i haven't adjusted whatever i needed to adjust after going from athlon ii to phenom ii or maybe incorrect drivers, but seems to be okay for the time being

ill post updates.

im unable to use google because my system clock is off (bad certificate). Nooo!!

as far as the system tray, ive had that and think it might be windows stuff thats messed up, usually a restart or log off fixes it. you need to click on your time in the taskbar and adjust the settings to be correct. also happens to me alot when overclocking and resetting bios

my cable had 5 solid copper wires about the same thickness as a pin. as long as its copper and about the size of a pin it should work out fine
