my cable had 5 solid copper wires about the same thickness as a pin. as long as its copper and about the size of a pin it should work out fine
I think they were a lot thinner than a pin. Im not really sure hwo to describe it. Each of the 5 cables in the ethernet cable, were made up of like a half dozen copper wires.

My 965 works this way for 2 years. I just removed some pins from an old athlon and put them on the mobo and it works just fine like the video
I re-inserted one of the pins but it was too small to reach the cpu, so I stuck in wire. It'd also be a real gamble to take my perfectly fine athlon ii and chip up pins from it. For all I knew the chip had been fried out by a previous user!
I mean I'm sitting here surfing around and stuff, so everything seems fine. I'm going to apply some TIM (i just slapped on my cm 212, it had plenty of leftover tim from earlier), make everything tight....
but are there any sorts of drivers or anything that I need to update or change because I changed from an athlon ii to phenom ii?

), and while I often wondered if this would work, I had no idea that it actually would. I learned something today
