Hello

A friend of mine want to build a new computer.

What about this build? He can spend only £1000

my only suggestion is to switch the ram. that ram is over priced. get some samsung wonder ram, or any kit of 8gb 1600mhz. use them money saved to get a better GPU

I would go for HIS IceqX 7950 or Gigabyte windforce 7950 or MSI twinfrozr.

Yup. With new drivers it will outperform 660ti (in most of the games)and also has great overclocking potential.

Also those ram are damn good for overclocking.
