Ultra Crystal or Ultra Oleophobic for screen quality?

Thread Starter
hey all, i have my anti glare screen protector for my note 2 (spigen series) but dont like the drop in image quality so was wondering which out of the above 2 give best screen quality but still offer good protection ?

Give us links. Oleophobic is nice for anti-fingerprint, but if you want absolute clarity, Crystal is best.

been looking at reviews but for iphone 5 instead of note 2, guessing they will be similar and they say isnt much difference in clarity
post #4 of 12
They're both more-or-less the same in term of optical quality. I owned the oleophobic protector for my iPhone and had no problems with image distortion or hazing. That said, the ultracrystal may be less noticeable as I think it's thinner (no oleopobic coating) and I really don't think the oleophobic coating lasts past the first couple of weeks. I would steer clear of their ultra nano series however, as it is a soft PU material (like the wet apply protectors, but much thinner). I have that on my S3 and I'm not really a fan.

(btw, how do you like the note 2? )

I don't understand why people buy screen protectors anymore.

I stopped using one for the iPhone for the last 6 months of my ownership of it and thoroughly enjoyed it. The only reason I have one on my S3 is that there's a good chance it'll be exchanged for a different phone (model), so I want to keep it mint.

i have only used it a little bit, first was waiting for a screen protector and now a case, duno about a case though becaust its big as it is but really picky about damaging them etc but its good, just going to take some getting used to from my iphone 4s, love it though

I've got an oleophobic on mine and from what i understand it has the same optical clearity as the crystal, but with slightly less scratch resistance (probably because of the addition of the oleophobic coating)

I can't really say much on fingerprints and stuff but it seems to stay cleaner than when the glass was naked, and it wipes off easier too.

Hey. Thanks for not blowing up and getting all defensive. I can't tell you how many people would have under similar circumstances.

Good reason to have a screen protector. I have never had a single scratch and I never used a screen protector. I put my phone in my jeans pockets. Have dropped it. put it face down on surfaces. Coins ruffle against it. No problem.

I'm just paranoid about scratching my screen. I tend to drop my phone in my car (filled with tools) or put my phone with my keys, and whatever else.

It's nice to know there's that little added barrier keeping my glass minty
