3dmark 2011 score seems low

I just finished my new system and wanted to run 3d mark. I am finding that even with overclocking my scores are pretty low. Wondering if what I am getting is normal for my hardware or if their might be something wrong with the system

Intel i7 3770 @ 4.223 (stock 3.5 ish I think)
sabretooth x77
16 gb quad channel 2133mhz patriot mem
intel 6.0gb/s sata ss drive
win 7 ultimate
asus hd 7970 dc2-3gd5 @1075mhz (stock 975)

My 3d mark 2011 basic score is 9300 to get that I had to get rid of amd catalyst control panel, it would eat 300-600 points.

Any suggestions? Anything Im doing wrong...


Let me know if I need to post any screenshots or anything that can help.

That really doesn't seem shockingly low. I score 9,125 with my sig rig.

you might be right...just want to make sure I am getting all the performance out of this machine as possible...and do so safely.

Frustrating that with this system I still cant please flight sim x or witcher 2 at utra everything without dropping frames.


I guess that was asking too much.

Do you use an HDTV?

I noticed that 3DM11 free edition was running in 1080i on my 32"

No im using a samsung 21 monitor. my is set to performance mode which should be 1280x720

Seems a little low. Disable tessellation in Catalyst for 3D11 and it will go up, also switch to the latest beta bios.
