I buy retail games. I like my boxed copies sitting on my shelf knowing that they will be playable 10/15 years down the road. However, with most publishers having the bright idea of chaining boxed copies to crap like steam, origin etc., I simply don't buy modern games. In fact, in the last month alone, I spent about $70 on eBay and got big boxed versions of Icewind Dale (with the cloth map), Tiberian Sun, Alpha Centauri, and Baldur's Gate. I also got Fallout 2, but that's only in a jewel case. The most DRM they have is a simple CD check, which is a lot better than signing away your rights to a product and having to jump through hoops just to launch a game.
