Having a tough time sourcing it locally. Is there recommended places or other ways to get it?

I was going to recommend purchasing a whole bunch of cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory and having it delivered to yourself but that probably isn't the most cost effective. Where have you looked already? Googling Dry Ice turns up a bunch of results in my city (Pittsburgh, PA). Maybe searching through the largest metropolitan area will work out for you.

I would recommend calling up various Walmarts and hardware stores up at complete random until you find something. I'd be surprised if nothing turned up after 1/2 an hour.

Used this site and it seemed pretty good in my area:

I'm a physics lab assistant at my college, and we get our dice, ln2, helium, etc from a local welding store. They have an entire lot full of gas tanks. You should have one pretty close if you aren't in a small town.

What you do is go to your local meat store and ask them. I remember I bought like 2 pounds for a couple of bux.

Yup, local grocery has it here. Might try one close by and see if they have any.

Local butcher, local chemistry department. Typically going direct to the supplier is expensive, but going via someone who uses it only to cool stuff temporarily (butcher) means you can get it very cheap.

My local baskin robins ice cream shop has dry ice they will sell. Worth a shot for ya if you have any places like that

I buy mine at Kroger Grocery. Airgas delivers it to them once a week or so. It's in big blocks, though, which is kind of a pain.
