iView 756tpc Help

I bought this tablet a month and a half ago. Everything was working fine, then for some reason the wifi just stopped working. It still scans and finds all the same networks, but it won't connect to anything. I did a factory reset and no change. I got into some sort of root menu by turning it off then holding the vol(-) and power buttons when turning it back on, but it was all in Chinese? so that was no help.

Will flashing the firmware fix it, or should I just send it back? If I send it back I have to pay for shipping both ways.
Next question, does anyone know how to flash the firmware? iView has a program called LiveSuit, but it will not work for me. It's all broken english with little or no instructions. When I try to start the program it says "Install the driver fail! The program will exit."

Idk if it's important, but this tablet is a LY-F1 clone

Hi, I have troubleshot possibly thousands of android cell phones at Verizon and as a last resort I would always flash the device before swapping it out. Most of the issues where user created and the ones that where not where almost always solved by flashing the firmware.

Your issue is almost certainly not your fault and though flashing usually solves the problem you most def could be dealing with a defect. I do not know the quality of workmanship that company has so I do not want to point fingers at it being a physical defect when it really could just be a software/firmware issue.

My recommendation to you is that you find a forum that specifically deals with android tablets and that lists your tablet or the one you believe it was cloned from.

I love overclock.net but if I wanted to find out who had the best kernels out for my phone or how to recover from a brick or anything of that nature I would head over to droidforums first. Of course in your situation droidforums isnt the answer either.

Maybe someone who knows that device inside out actually is on this forum and will post soon but if not I highly recommend you find another forum before paying the shipping.

I would hate for you to just get your device back or somebody elses used device that nothing was actually repaired on.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I've been reading through other forums, but everyone on them seems to be writing their own roms and they don't explain the noob stuff. I will just have to make my own thread and see if I can get some help there. Thanks.

I hate that honestly... I used to be very active on some of the pda cell phone forums and have written many stickies. I always explain my directions in complete and total step by step click by click as if I was explaining it to my mom over the phone. I keep it very organized and often use screen shots.

Most people just skip all the newb data and because of that the only people who can follow the directions are the ones who have already done it like 10 times.
