Should this review be considered as a fair review ? - Page 2

yes but seriously, these people are making a mockery out here.

i mean a phone that has so many good points, a fab design even though reused, camera quality, wireless charging, ability to use the screen with your gloves on, oh and the OS itself, which i totally love, and yet the reviewer cussing about the fact that these all things make the phone sort of a ton brick.

but in sort of a larger scale, i am in doubt about the systems used by giz to allow such reviewers to send their reviews. and is it common with all the tech sites ?
maybe, or maybe not and thats why i posted it here to get your opinion on whether it is a good idea to ever read such reviews in the first place, if not, whats the point of having such a site

Maybe I read that wrong and there is no frustration in your message but if there is I would say something along the line of cool it. There is no reason why you should be upset with me.
I answered your original question and I apologize that I added more to it than you originally asked. I would suggest if someone gives you more information than you needed that you disregard the extra info and just go with the info you where looking for.
I said "So either it is really that huge or that guy is a tard". If you needed a more direct answer like YES or NO I am sorry I elaborated on my reply. I don't usually just post a yes or no to any question.
So in being that I can't elaborate I say YES it is a fair review.
Cheers
If you where not frustrated at all I apologize for reading it that way.

buddy...i'm not angry nor frustrated...i posted here just to get an opinion on what this so called "tard" said in the review.
also, i don't get angry easily, unless its people like these reviewers

no hard feelings in all respect

That's good to hear. I don't know if you can tell why I would say you sounded a lil frustrated or angry. The guy who reviewed it is a tool for sure anybody reading it should have been able to figure that out. When you are reviewing something you should stay as objective as possible. You can mention that the phone is extremely heavy and that it may be a deal breaker for some including yourself but to keep ranting about it over and over and over is very unprofessional. I don't think I would continue reading that persons reviews if he ever had another like that. If that was the first review I read from the person I would never read any reviews from him again and that is my first review from that person so yeh won't be reading anything from him ever again. The way he smashed it was almost fanboyism but he doesn't seem to be a fanboy so yeh just unprofessional.

Technically though the review is still fair. He mentioned the highs and the lows he just couldn't stop ranting about the weight. If it really is that heavy and that thick (heavier or thicker than a thunderbolt) than I probably wouldn't be able to give it 4 stars either. You have to think about both men and women in your review and if the size of a phone completely cuts off an entire half of your customers because of its size that's worth a lot of docked points.

The bottom line is this phone is still for some people and it's performance is obviously tip top. I have seen quite a few people use and love the dell streak? I think it was called and that was a HUGE phone. I don't even think it was supposed to be a phone but people where using it as one on tmo. So if people can love the dell streak and this is smaller than obviously a lot more people will love this. Plus the dell streak did not do anything for me OS wise.

Too heavy? I had to convert to grams, and it's only 225 grams. In my books that's nothing, and a heavy phone only feels more durable. Completely disqualifying a phone solely based on it's weight is stupid, you keep it in your pocket most of the time anyway.

Sure I use an otterbox on all my phones so they are all pretty huge. But honestly when I had the thunderbolt it was difficult to use with one hand and sometime you really had to use both hands to do some things. I do not have small hands nor are they huge they are just big and so big phones normally don't botther me.
Maybe the guy reviewing it has tiny girl hands. He also seems very focused on the fact that it is huge and talks about it non stop. So either it is really that huge or that guy is a tard.
One thing I would say is don't go ordering this thing online. Go to the store ask to see one that is not secured to a tether and actually handle it a lil bit. If they have a dummy phone (fake) go ahead and put it in your pocket if it is a brand new out the box phone have some respect and try not to scratch it.

I have a HTC thunderbolt with extended battery. I love the phone but with the extended batt the thing was a beast in weight. Without the extended batt the phone felt great was not heavy at all.

I remember reading this review a few days ago. When I read it I sat there for a minute and had to think.
I couldn't shake how this review made me feel as though there was an ulterior motive to his review. Suredly someone that obtained a position like that at a company that well known isn't that openly biased and ignorant?

I am not saying he is ignorant for his views and opinions, I say that because he conveyed those personal feelings in an over the top manor in what should have been an objective review.
I have read probably 90% of the reviews out for this phone. Many of the reviews I read have commented about its weight, but none to the degree this one did. I wrote this review off and just ignored the obvious bias. Not having the pleasure of playing with a Windows 7 phone in detail, much less these new W8P's, I wont buy one until I can thoroughly inspect and play with the phone myself.

I can't wait to get to a store and play with it. I know what I am doing Friday morning....
