All logitech products I have bought have been awesome, my g500 mouse has lasted me over 3 years sofar, my g110 keyboard lasted 3 years before I spilt iced coffee all over it, even after pulling it apart and cleaning it worked fine. My z5400 speakers have lasted me nearly 8 years without any signs of giving up, have other logitech products which have been very reliable aswell in the past. I wouldn't think twice about recomending logitech to others either.
Not sure what is up with the g710 backlighting failing though.. I do know the user with those ones pulled the first one apart to paint the orange bit black (so possible damage when handling), not sure if he pulled the second one apart though, doesn't seem like it if they failed after a day.

Oh great they put one of the volume wheels on it, I hate them volume scroll wheel things because at one point there gonna go crappy and you will put your keyboard down one time and BAM 100% volume on your game within a second at 4AM, wakes up everyone around your area

What? This particular keyboard seems to be having issues, their other products have yet to give me a problem.
I've still got Logitech mice and keyboards from 1998 that are 100% functional, my old G5 had over 15,000 hours of use with 6 different users being used 24/7 365 for years, worked flawlessly until I retired it... and blew it up.
If that isn't durable then I don't know what is.

However, this keyboard is a pile of crap.

My MX 518 which was bought when they were first released, still works as if brand new. Their mice might be better than their keyboards though, never owned one of them.

Great keyboard. It's built as sturdy and durable as they come. Cherry MX Brown switches with O-rings for the quietest mechanical keyboard. Logitech has some solid products and this is definitely top notch keyboard that can compare to other high end mechanical boards like Ducky, Filco, & Das.

With any products your going to hear of the DOA's or issues etc. The lightning issue isn't wide spread but when one OCN member has two LED lights partially go out, it does cause for pause. Logitech did make good on their warranty and stood behind their product with successful RMA. I bought mine knowing of this LED possibility but Logitech's great customer service carries a lot of weight for me that I have absolute confidence. They even replaced our members modified board where he took it apart to color the orange macro border black. As for me, my G710+ has no issues as of typing this and I type pretty darn hard on my keys. biggrin.gif

If your in the market for CherryMX Brown keys this board take this one into consideration. Also comes with nice little perks like USB port, one click Volume controls and volume roller. The macro keys have three sets of profiles with 6 macros per profile for total of 18 macro keys.

At first I thought the orange was a bit much and wasn't fond of it. After having it in front of me, it turns out it's not as prominent pictures made it seem. I solved it by pairing it with the SteelSeries Sensei Fnatic and I couldn't be happier. thumb.gif

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I have a G9x Mouse, G110 keyboard, G930 Headset, C910 Webcam, and have owned several logitech products before those, and all have worked well for me. The only issues people are reporting with these keyboards is the LEDs going out. Due to the nature of the internal construction i would guess that it has something to do with the leads that feed the LEDs, since they seem to go out only in sections (wasd, rest of main keyboard, numpad). The G710+ actually has a solid metal plate in it, something i personally have never before seen in a keyboard (though i suppose is more common in mech kbs)

I want one with an LCD on! I couldn't live without my G15's LCD any more. It's so useful for temperatures, CPU and memory usage, etc. Whenever I am curious as to how much VRAM I am using it's just a press away.

There is an easy way to add a "LCD" to any keyboard, although depending on the LCD it might get kinda expensive. Anyway for adding an touchscreen LCD to any keyboard - get an Android tablet/phone, install any of the programs that let you use your android device as an additional PC screen, power it through USB and make it not go into standby after every couple of minutes and you have your touchscreen smile.gif

Say - http://www.androidtabletbay.com/ainol-novo-7-fire-android-40-tablet-ips-screen-dual-core-dual-cameras-1gb-16gb-tablet-pc_p699.html - a 7'' 1280x800 IPS screen with capacitive touch for approx 125 euros
a 7'' tablet card holder for ~4 eur - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tablet-PC-Car-Windshield-Holder-Mount-Cradle-for-Ainol-NOVO-8-NOVO-7-Aurora-ELF-/281016531080?pt=Other_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item416de3f888

and you have that LCD screen in whatever location you like and which can show anything you can see on your computer screen, coretemp, smarfan, HW .. whatever smile.gif

If 120 is too expensive then one can find Android tablets for as low as ~60 eur from China and the cheapest Android phones, I think, are around 30 eur or so.
