Flickering/Artifacts in some games. - Page 2

I am truly sorry you had to go through that many part replacements. Yes, this is driver related.

THis issue is also in DX11. I am using latest 12.11 beta 6 and randomly i still get weird graphical glitches shooting across the map, extending from the characters, etc. I find BF3 performance horrible with my 7950. I feel let down by this cards performance.

This issue is not in DX11. If you are having issues with your card, you might want to consider RMAing it. BF3 is now one of the most stable and well-tested games in the market.

^This.

BF3 displays ZERO artifacts unless you clock the core too far, and in that case, you start getting either black lines at the edges of objects (gun, plane nose, plane wing, etc) or VPU recovery.

Overclocking the mem too far usually gives a GSOD.

Your artifacts are not the DX9 flickering issue, and it does NOT affect DX11 and definitely NOT Battlefield 3.

I hope it will be present on Black Ops 2, otherwise this bug exists since the cards came out, but... It seems like miscalculation errors when you have unstable overclocking, but with default clocks. On some games the issue is so rare that you might not even be able to notice it. On other, like DA Origins, it happens excessively -if you find the hot-spots.

My personal opinion is, we're talking about defective cards. I hope it's not the case. Incidentally, forget overheating or anything else. My card on BF3 does not exceed 52C.

Is it possible that AMD already fixed some parts of the issue? 12.11 b6 does hardly flicker in SC2 anymore. I didn't read anything about it in the changelogs. It definitly got better.

The direct3d driver wasn't updated at all, so it definitely wasn't fixed. Might just be a few tweaks through profiles to lessen it.

Well today i noticed flickering in SC2 again. I just hope that not every single game needs to be fixed and that the Issue as whole will be fixed within the next drivers. I think my patience got tested long enough now..

I’m seeing bugs in a number of games now and I don’t know if it’s the card or the new 12.11 drivers. The issue was repeated with Age of Empires On Line. I took one of the two MSI 7970 cards to another PC that has a 5970 with no issues and it had the same glitches. No driver seemed to help. But with Age of Empires On Line I was able to run the game in a VMware session and not see the issue. ???
