Test your memory with Memtest86+, the number one suspect in this case.

Please feel free to comment, advise, correct, and add to this list. I am not the original author and will not take credit for it. I simply thought that it should be posted by itself. I am only repeating the info that I got here at OCN. This is currently for Intel i7 systems, but I would like for everyone to help me set it up for other systems as well.
Thanks, just giving back,

using AMD system without overclocking

memtest is fine also did Furmark for 5 minutes and aida64 stability test everything seem fine

except that the 12 v is 12.604 maybe the problem in the PSU ????

Hi Buzinga,

How long does it take the BSOD to occur after restart (or is it instant)? From what I have read about this, it can also be the voltage for the CPU, even though you said it is stock.

Have you been doing anything when it blue screens. In other words, does it happen when the computer is not idled?

good luck!

How long did you run memtest out of curiosity? There are a bunch of tests in memtest, and usually if you get errors, I find that I get them on tests 5 and 8, so make sure you at least went through those ones.

Also, I agree that this sounds like it could be a voltage issue (HI IKE!! *wave*).

Do you happen to have Cool & quiet turned on at all? Or any other sort of power management feature? These features automatically adjust clock speed and voltages to save power. I'm wondering if they are reducing the vcore too much, and it is what is causing you the BSOD.

And have you ever gone into the BIOS and manually set the all of the settings for the CPU? I've seen mobos default to amazingly inaccurate settings before (in fact one of IKE's first mobos set his old AM2 5000+ was set by default to 1.55v, which was .2v to high). So perhaps manually configuring the settings in the BIOS will help you.

And it is normal to have some variance in the PSU power. As long as its within spec, you should be fine. If IIRC, the spec for the 12v rail is +- 10%, so you're fine on the PSU.

Try checking the BIOS for settings like cool & quiet, set the settings for your CPU manually, then let us know if that helped at all.

Good luck smile.gif.

Since you are not overclocked it has something to do with your Mem as I said before, now it could be as HaMMeR=GoM was good enough to mention that; "0x124 = increase/decrease QPI/VTT first, if not increase/decrease vcore...have to test to see which one it is", which in that case, I'd up the volts on your QPI/VTT (Northbridge) in Bios to see if the crashes go away.

If not than it could either be that the mobo is defective and is not regulating the volts between your CPU and RAM or it could be bad RAM.

Check cpu-world.com for the correct settings for your processor.

Without knowing what model you have its hard to tell you what the settings should be. Luckily CPU-world is amazing and will give you all of that information.

Does your system BSOD when under full load? Try running prime95 or something like that for a long time and see if it BSOD's during that time.

Good luck smile.gif.
