Reccomend me a mech keyboard!

Thread Starter
Since I have spare money left from my part time job, I decided to invest in a mechanical keyboard. Here are the terms:

Switch Type: I think I would be perfectly fine with Blues, Reds or Browns. Black is bleh to me.
NKRO would be awesome.
No tenkeyless keyboard, I want a full one.
As for dedicated media keys, to be honest i'm perfectly fine without them. I never used those to much on my keyboard right now. Even then, they would be a nice plus.
US $150 or less.
Full Backlighting, regardless of color.

I have been leaning towards the Trigger now, looks like a very nice high quality keyboard. Not to mention it's made by Costar biggrin.gif

Keyboards I hate:

Any Razer BW keyboard. Quality control on those things are garbage. My friend had one and it broke.

Since im on my ipad right now, i have to put other suggestions over here since i cant space lines of text evenly. A full on wrist rest would be totally awesome, and macros are not a huge concern to me. I would like to have 6 or 8, i dont really need any more.

With your budget I'd forget the trigger and go with Ducky Shine 2 for that little extra bit of quality. It seems that the cm storm trigger would only be a better choice if you want a wristrest, macro keys or a usb hub on your keyboard. Also trigger only has a 6kro and ducky Shine 2 has nkro. If you need those things which I mentioned you should also consider Logitech G710+ which has all of those, 26kro and dedicated media keys. AFAIK G710+ has a pretty solid quality but I think it isn't just as good as the trigger's. Another advantage of the G710+ is Logitech's top notch customer support.

I'm pretty sure that you'll be satisfied with any of those keyboards and all of them should last for many years. Keep in mind that I don't own any of the keyboards I mentioned so atleast my advice isn't biased. I hope you will share your experiences, because I'm going to buy a mech keyboard soon and I'm having a bad time choosing which one to get.

I second the recommendation for the Trigger or Ducky Shine. The Ducky is probably the better choice here quality-wise, although the Trigger is the cheaper option here.

Ducky Shine!

Very well built and neutral styling make this keyboard a keeper for years to come.

In my case I wanted a TKL, but since you want a number pad you should have more choices. I just don't use the number pad enough, even when I had one I found myself using the numbers at the top instead. I would rather have the space on the desk and have my keyboard centered in front of me. I would purchase a separate number pad, if I ever found the need for one.

I'm happy with my trigger, decided to go with it instead of the ducky because it uses costar instead of cherry

My Corsair K90 has surprised me with good build quality and performance. Red switches, a host of programmable G-keys, media controls, truly superb backlighting, and an attractive aluminum fascia with a removable rubber-coated wrist rest.

Pic of my mouse with the K90 partially included.
