By branded it most likely means, Dell based windows 7 or OEM.

it basically means its been pre-programmed to work on dell computers with built in drivers specifically for that brand of computer.

You just need to get a normal version of windows 7 Home/Pro e.c.t which is found at all good retailers.

if its the key, then no dont, chances are it will be limited to work with dell only motherboards so it will reject your motherboard and you will be out of pocket and out of a product key.

If it seems too cheap and like too much of a good deal..........its usually because it is.

Im not arguing with that my argument is that its the third site ive gone to that has branded 7 and it says in the description that works with all builds. I want to know if someone has bought one or ever had an issue. Plus Ill buy through paypal and Ive never had an issue Im not worried about losing my money.

You're almost certainly buying something that isn't approved by MS through grey market channels. What do you want us to say? If you feel like taking the gamble to save a few bucks, go right ahead and tell us how it went. I'll point out the Windows 8 licenses are dirt cheap, so I'm not sure why you're even bothering with this at this point.

1. I was wondering if anyone has done this
2. I have no desire to go to windows 8 any time soon. 8 is designed for a tablet style interface and thats something I do not want
