I want a USB 3.0 20 Pin 90 degree motherboard header, the kind you have to solder on.

I would like to have my internal USB 3.0 header turned sideways. Instead of plugging the cable in at vertical to the mobo, I would rather plug it in parallel to the mobo. I have been searching but I cannot find what I am looking for.

Help.

Its only a 20Pin IDE cable. Search that or 20Pin IDE extender.

It's actually not an IDE connector. The USB 3.0 Header has a smaller pitch.

True, Dunno what I'm more annoyed at been wrong or usb3.0 having a stupid header that isn't like a standard header.

This is the closest I could find. The slot is on the wrong side, so you will need to shave off the notch on your cable, and also pull out the correct pin.

Ordered.

No mobo to mod yet. I will probably wait until back friday to get it. Do not expect results into next year.

I got the part but it's the wrong size. Pins line up just fine and the width is good, it's the height that is wrong. The connector is the exact height of a USB 3.0 internal motherboard connector.

Thought that was what you were looking for. What do you mean the height is wrong? Have a picture of the connector where you want it to go on the motherboard?

The height of the connector is the exact height of an internal USB 3.0 motheboard header. I checked this on my Arc Midi and on my Silverstone HTPC case, same issue on both.

I either need a connector that is a bit taller or I would have to shave the header down.

You could leave the original connector in, remove the plastic shroud, then bridge all the pins together with solder. If you solder it right you could have something that looks good and accomplishes what you set out to do.
