"New A Series processor from AMD" mentioned in The Controller, What is it?

I was watching youtube yesterday, catching up on the latest FPS russia, when I saw that he had been part of a mini series created to promote Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The name of the show is "The Controller". Without going into too much detail they have a gaming rig provided by AMD that features 2 HD7970's in crossfire and an "New Unreleased A series processor from AMD" that apparently has a turbo clock frequency of 4.2ghz.

With that said, I was wondering if anyone knew what this processor might be, or if they have heard any news related to such a processor.

I watched the whole series yesterday, I found it to be entertaining biggrin.gif. Here is a link to the first episode if you want to see what im talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsdAavEOgKM

They don't really mention the specs of the processor, in regards to clock frequency, until later on in the series. Prior to that mention, they just called it an unreleased AMD A series CPU.

Let me know what you guys think.

The vids were uploaded September 20th, at which point the Trinity APUs weren't out yet. So they are probably talking about an A10-5800K, which clocks up to 4.2GHz with Turbo.

That seems to fall into place quite well, considering they were released shortly after the posting dates of the videos that you have pointed out. I was hoping for something a bit more exciting, but I guess I was hoping for too much haha. Im curious as to why they would choose an A series over the FX series, which would clearly power a CF setup of HD7970's much better. Perhaps they wanted to hype their new product, in a way it worked for me, until I found out what that product was lol.

Thanks for your help Chuck.

The ones I've read about are the 'Richland' APUs in Q2 2013. Which mainly feature an improved on-chip GPU component.
