Budget gaming/school build for a friend?

Thread Starter
Can someone help my friend pick parts for a budget build that he'll use for school and minimal gaming?
His budget is $800 total. He pretty much needs everything excluding a monitor. For the OS, he doesn't care if he gets Win7 or Win8. He says a standard mouse, keyboard and speakers will do fine.
The games he mainly plays are web browser games and Minecraft. He has no plans for overclocking.

Wow, thats easy, here, go to cyberpowerpc.com or ibuypower.com and pick out what you like, graphic card will probably only need to be around the $120 mark, and higher is kinda overkill but if you have extra, do it.

He says that the cheaper it is, the better. Would it be possible to build a computer that can run Minecraft smoothly for cheaper than $800?

Absolutely, like I said, give me your email in a PM and I will send over like 2 or 3 builds for you. Best part about cyberpower and ibuypower is that they assemble it for you and deliver it to your door.

It would help the community more if you would post the builds in this thread... That way others can comment and suggest changes if necessary. I'm not doubting your knowledge but there may be a better solution to the build you may be recommending.

Also, please edit your previous post opposed to double/triple posting. Just helps the place stay a little cleaner. smile.gif

Good point, on both fronts. The only reason I was thinkin one of those sites is because it sounds like he is a bit of a noob (no offense) and wouldnt know how to build a computer, but I will try to find a way to post the build here
