Quote:
Blizzard has released a video detailing the parental controls available to WoW, Starcraft, or Diablo-playing families, which are far more extensive than many people, including the author of this piece, ever realized. Blizzard’s parental controls allow parents to do all of the following:

Limit play-time
By day
By week
By creating a detailed schedule of permitted and forbidden hours
By using one of Blizzard’s pre-set schedules, such as weekends only or after school
Disable or enable RealID, effectively controlling one method of communication which allows the sharing of real names
Enable or disable in-game voice chat
Enable or disable the Real Money Auction House in Diablo III
Generate play-time reports delivered each week via email. These reports contain details of your child’s play time, including login and logout times, the duration of each play session, and more.

eh.

EDIT: edited tittle.

They've had them for a long time.

If you need blizzard to parent for you, you don't deserve to be a parent at all.

Not a bad idea. I'm all for options. Personally, if I played WoW, I would have no limitations. But as a parent, I can see where that would be useful.

That has been there FOREVER. I remember them adding it in vanilla haven't played in years.

Restricting game time to your child is the worst way to proceed. You are conditioning the children to play at certain period of the day instead of showing him other ways to spend his time.

Parents think they have the control but the children will grow and search way to counter the parental restriction which apply only for blizzard's games.
