Thank you, I can't believe it still runs though, I was under the impression that it would just not boot and fail to start any OS. Well I guess I am going to upgrade to an SSD and a not so crappy HDD. Thanks for helping me :3

Is it under warranty?
Yeah, unfortunately drives don't always flat out "fail" leaving you to scratch your head

Now sometimes it is possible for sectors to go bad but not the whole drive. Most often it indicates a drive that is about to fail, but not always.
If you want to be 100% sure, you could always stress test the hell out of it (after backing up data)

Honestly I don't care enough to go for the warranty even if it is under it check out my thread here to see what I am buying wink.gif

Since it is a WD Green talk to WD for a replacenent drive if still in warranty.
Western Digital hard drives have 3 years warranty with serial number.
Check the build date on that hard drive and you can get a replacement, also the WD Green only has issues cause its energy saving features are on, you can turn them off with a program and it will behave almost as if it was a blue caviar.

If you don't want the HDD atleast send an RMA to get a new one back so you can sell it.
