Another vote here for Mint. I'm currently running Mint 13 KDE as my main work environment and I also use it in a VirtualBox VM for more casual stuff. I also use Mint 13 XFCE on a Dell server, just to give it a lightweight GUI.

I would most definitely say Linux Mint. I'm using it in my laptop and it is amazing. So, Linux mint!
