Yeah my school has one. Makes you appreciate actual 2d displays when the only output is a word of octal represented by dots.

Wow. That actually makes me kinda jealous. I'd be happy to even see a PDP-8/-11 in person.

Programming is more about practice and logic than anything else. your first language will feel a little overwhelming if you go in with out a clue. So I'll give you little advice that helps me learn new languages on the fly.

First break the language down into easily manageable portions. For me it goes like this:

Data types and variables.
Loops & syntax.
procedures & file in and Out.

All that should take about 2 weeks if you only do practice for about an 45min a day, maybe an hour. After words, find/decide on a project you want to do to practice your new language. For me, Since python is the newest language I've learned, i'm dong 2/3 projects. First converting old Mel "scripts" to python code... well py-mel, working on an auto e-mailer and finally seeing if can design a small text based rpg game (own amusement just to see if I can)

Learning OO Java, c++, html, SQL next semester cant wait!! Gota catch them all!

Practicing C++ in the next few weeks before school starts. I am new to Object oriented programming. What I learned in C++ yesterday was that objects have their own set of variable data(I need to use the same object to call functions... well something like that). I need to learn some HTML, and review the very basic SQL I already know so I dont get rusty.

I would like to try C# , OpenGL, and PowerShell. I know the basics of java and am taking a class on VB.net right now. I feel like those languages will be able to help cover a fairly good employment base.
