Help with pin with no wire stuck in 6-pin connector (Noob sleever)

Thread Starter
So I just got my sleeving stuff from MDPC and I have been trying to sleeve my cables. So I was trying to get a cable out of the connector using the MDPC pin remover and I managed to pull a cable straight off the pin (the crimp has broken). I was obviously not doing it right and the pin is stuck in the connector and I can't remove the pin. I have sleeved about 6 of the other cables, so I know that the pin remover is not faulty. Is there anyway I can remove the pin, any advice would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

You're probably going to have to either use something to pull the pin out like needle nose pliers or something to fit between the pin remover to push the pin out.

If you have some of those tiny watchmaker's screwdrivers, stick it into one side of the pin where the wings are. Then twist to crush the pin and the wing. Then put the screwdriver in on the other side and do the same to crush the other wing. Pin should fall out.

I tried using very small a screwdriver and twisted and success! I just had to push the pin out a bit using the screwdriver, but otherwise it worked perfectly. Thanks for all your help.

I've had this before. I used a tiny flat head screwdriver, and pushed it out from the front. I tried the pliers, but they were to big. This generally happens when the wire wasn't crimped properly. Goodluck. thumb.gif
