Hello everyone!


I have an Alienware Aurora i7 980x desktop. A week ago I new nothing about overclocking. I read what I could find here and a few other places for a few days. Then I started to carefully experiment with the BIOS settings. After a few more days I've settled on an overclock setting that is a big performance boost and is very stable. I've been carefully watching my temperatures and torture testing with Prime95.

The weak links in my system are slow RAM memory and a SATA II bus.

Pretty sweet OC. But i have a question. Why did you buy Alienware? They're ovepriced.

As a first timer overclocking I'm pretty excited that things turned out so well. I've run Prime95 torture test a few times now, the longest being over 13 hours and things continue to be rock solid smile.gif


BWAS1000, I bought this Alienware desktop about 15 months ago because I didn't know any better. I did get a good deal on it though, roughly only paid about half price for it, it was refurbished. I didn't realize what a rip-off Alienware was until I started to read about overclocking. It was a real eye opener!
