Anyword from AMD about the HDMI sound issue?

Thread Starter
The only driver that I was able to ever use that gave me sound without issues, was the 12.4s. I just switched over to Windows 8 and the fix of using a preset to raise the clocks, so that the voltage is slightly higher, is not working for me.

As soon as I use AB to overclock, I either lose sound, or the overclock isn't applied. Has anyone read anything about this anywhere? I have reported it to ATI 100s of times during the last 8 months...

I know I'm not the only one with this issue...

So I tried installing fresh drivers with no MSI AB or other overclocking and it's still the same thing. The first time I boot into windows, it's fine. I get sound. After a little while I'll lose sound. The only way for it to work, is to create a profile preset that will raise the idle clocks by a bit, so that it raises the voltage being received by the card.

The way I can get HDMI audio is by starting my movie in VLC, select HDMI as the audio device, go to control panel and make HDMI my default audio source, then charge the audio from stereo to "left" only or "right" only, and then swap back to stereo. It typically works.

It's a massive pain in the butt when I have to go through it each time I want to watch a movie, and even then, it doesn't work 100% of the time.

I'd like to see a response from AMD.

Just wondering, but are you guys connected through a receiver?

http://www.overclock.net/t/1318756/amd-12-11-beta-drivers/550#post_18566801

Take a look at my post in this thread and several posts down. See if it's the same problem and chime in on that thread. Someone from AMD actually looks at it and comments. So just to show more people have the same issue.

Then maybe fill out a new ticket... I've done it a ton of times already... rolleyes.gif
