DELTA Fan Carnage! (56k Warning?) - Page 3

Couple years ago... I decided to build my own computer and was testing some HW before putting it all in the case... So I decided to ghetto rig an 80mm Delta to the side of the motherboard with some masking tape... Long story short; fan spins up to 6K rpm, rips masking tape off of the desk and goes for a "dive" off the side of said desk (while still plugged to the motherboard header)... In a split second; I decided that saving my newly purchased motherboard was more important than having 10 fingers and I grabbed the fan in mid air while it still was spinning... This is the afermath.

Those 80mm Deltas are the worst.

After several experiences getting whacked by fans, I now grab them by their wires -- to save motherboard headers, etc.

So we must re-train ourselves. A few whacks with fan blades are certainly prime motivators.
