Old laptop/dock, new life?

Thread Starter
So I got this old Gateway laptop at a yard sale for $5. They said it didn't work. I took it home and plugged it in and it powered right up... roughly 15 minutes later (literally that long) it booted into Win98. lol

The battery is shot, but it works plugged in. It came with a HUGE laptop bag full of accessories... A mouse, a docking station, a wifi card... Bag weighs like 20lbs. lol

So I've been lugging it around for a while and can't seem to bring myself to throw it out. So my question is, what the hell could I use it for? There has got to be something awesome I could make out of it, or some way I could put it to use.

Any suggestions?

I'll post the horrid specs, and a list of what all is in the bag in a bit.

Ok, so In the bag is a dock with a power supply, what I'm pretty sure is one of the first Logitech USB optical mice, a nib PCMCIA wifi card (Linksys WPC11) with lightning fast speeds of up to 11mb/s. The user manual for the laptop, the user manual for the dock. An extra battery. (also dead). And some random papers, pens, pencils, and a rather nice unused day planner which I have already given away.

A massive 20Gb HDD
Pentium II, 398MHz
544MB RAM

Not much profit to be made, really.

You can throw a light linux distro in it. Although I think it's pretty well not usable anymore. I think you should toss it, or turn it into a server.
