E8400 Overclocking Help

Thread Starter
I know my ways around a computer pretty good as I've have had my hands on building my own PC. Took me longer than most people, but I got it down. The thing is, this PC of mine is my older version, mainly used for work. Now that I know it can run BF3 on Low settings with 28Fps Min it has intrique me to try further

Specs atm
E8400 @3.00 Dual Core
260 GTX
GIGABYTE EP45 UD3R

The thing I want to know about it is without much cooling. Only one fan. How much can i overclock the E8400? Can I atleast hit 3.5 stable?

Also. I AM A COMPLETE NEWBIE at OC. So please link me a guide on how to do this or give me a step by step tutorial. Thank you!!
