Maybe not the serious businessman but the boss nonetheless; something that represents prestige and class, like a handsome man in a designer suit wearing a luxury watch. Honestly that's the impression I get from their SSDs of all things.

What do you mean by life style?

They have Refrigerators, TV, Cellphones, Aircons, Stoves, Washing Machines, etc... Do they also have to sell cars for them to be a "life style?"

I hope they invest into industrial design. They have a few amazing looking monitors at the high end, but sell complete crap in the lower end segment. (Much like LG)

If their team use some of their Yin yang, feng shui mumbo jumbo on the product they make?Samsung could surprise !(A LOT)

All I can think of that sounds pretty neutral is Vizio.
IDK "Samsung" just sounds too Asian IMO.. unlike LG and Sony.
General Motors, Ford. G.E.? Hmm..
Zynga,!? Maybe? xD

Nike which is actually the Greek word for victory (pronounced knee-key or like the name Nicky)

Well, when you see someone with an Apple product you sort of imagine them as being young, creative or whatever. Samsung doesn't speak out to me that way.

It's pretty clear that lots of people view samsung as an "asian" company, especially if you go looking through apple forums and strongholds on the internet *shudder*. There's a lot of ethnophobia conducted by some apple fans (no offense to any apple fans here, not saying it's true for all).

I'm sure in this day and age no one views Sony as a Japanese company but a international one, and that's what Samsung is trying to do. The name Sony is a blend of Latin and American words. I'm sure many kids these days don't even know Sony is a Japanese company unless someone told them or they researched it themselves.

You know what Samsung means in Korean/Chinese? The name itself is Asian.

I wouldn't view Lenovo as a Asian company even though it's Chinese owned. In fact, many companies in the US and the UK are Chinese owned and many people don't even know it.

There are plenty of American companies with names that don't sound like English out there, so it's not too far fetched for a typical person to not know it's Korean.

Ummm, different pronunciation doesn't mean it has a different meaning. 三星 literally translates to 3 Stars in Chinese. Chinese characters are used extensively in Korea and Japan, different sounding but meaning is generally the same.
