Stop the pointless bickering. The OP already stated that he does not want an intel based build. Next time someone insults another user or posts something that's not helpful for the OP warnings will be handed out.

Thank you! Now if only I could get him to stop sending me PM's...

Anyways, how does the Silver Arrow cooler compare to the D14/H100? I've seen a few benchmarks showing the Silver Arrow actually out preforming the D14...

If it preforms close, I'd rather get that! I know, it's a hulking air cooler. But I kinda like it. Sweet and shiny. tongue.gif

Lol Abyssal I think he's got some sort of wierd fetish with Intel processors! tongue.gif

I'd compare those coolers with the new H100s instead of the old ones (the new one is called the H100i).

Being a Silver Arrow SB-E owner you could call me biased but it's a few c degrees better then the NH-D14 and has a nicer color scheme also. I prefer it too as it's bigger and looks more beastly. tongue.gif

I'd say get the SB-E also as it has some really nice fans that are almost silent at full load off my fan controller and probably would remain silent on a motherboard header. It also comes with some real nice thermal paste. It beats/is about the same as the H100 as far as I know too, while being quieter and cheaper.

Replace 7870 with 7950, the fx-83XX are very good chips.

Good Luck!

Definitely get 1600MHz or 1866MHz RAM. It looks like the 8350s are getting equal to higher clocks on lower voltage so it might be worth it.

The 7870 is a good card. I've had two of them so far. I have not had any issues whatsoever. Coolermaster PSUs (except for a few of the Silent Pro series) are garbage.

I like the Fractal case. Seagate Barracudas also have 5 year warranties. At least the three that I own do! I have never had any issues with Seagate so I would just go with whatever is the best deal. I like your build, the FX chips are more fun to overclock than Intel but Intel will give you better gaming benchmark scores. When you're already over 60FPS I don't think it really matters for actual gaming performance. I had a i5-2500K with a 7870. It performed great, I sold it for rent money and upgraded my backup machine from an 8150 to a 8320. I put a 7870 with my 8320, performs great. If you didn't tell me what was in each case I couldn't tell a discernible difference in gameplay. Get whichever you want! They're both good!

What about the gigabyte UD5? A friend of mine can attest to gig's quality, but have any of you had experience with this particular board?
