FPS exposing the myth between 30 fps and 60 fps - Page 2

Anything less than 40FPS for me starts to feel like a movie. I much prefer to immerse myself with 50-60, the overall smoothness is very noticeable and much more appealing. Altho I will game on 24-40 if it's intensive like crysis 1, but any other console port of game that locks me to 30fps will feel my wrath.

where exactly does it show that this is 30fps? your refresh rate is 60, and no osd to show 30. also it depends on the game, some games run fine at like 45, while others stutter and slow down with frame loss (need for speed 2012 for example). not only is there usually a noticeable difference between 30 and 60, but there is a smooth difference between 60 and 120.

Depends on the game...some games have good motion blur that will hide sluggish fps. However, I can feel less than 45-60fps in the controls for some games.

Seeing and feeling are 2 differnt things. If any game drops below my refresh rate I can tell, and I have a 120hz monitor.

I never understood this, is this a fact that can be proven?

When my games drop below 50 I can tell and when they drop to 30 everything feels slow and sluggish.

I really can tell the difference between anything above 80fps, but under that.. especially below 40 you notice sluggish choppy motion.

I agree with this, it depends on the game engine. I have games that are noticeably smoother at over 100 FPS compared to around 60 FPS and others where I really can't tell a difference.
