I definitely want to buy one of these drives. I could care less about Assassin's Creed but maybe I can sell the key to offset the price of the drive, which is pretty high.

The standard 840 250gb is around 187 on amazon but seems like the pro is standard 256gb. I have a crucial 128gb now and thinking of getting a 256 as an upgrade but I'm unsure. Waiting for 512 models to drop will take time.

Starting to ask myself if the extra is worth it at all or if I should just get what's on sale because I wouldn't notice a difference generally, performance wise.

Your probably right unless you do a lot of writing and video/photo editing. I may as well try and find an 830 on sale.

I write tons of data, format often like once in 2 months or so, and with slow (older) SSD's the period to install 200GB of data in one day is really painful, especially because older SSD's tank regarding performance in those scenarios.

Can it be activated in steam?

I think it's through ubisoft's system although it may be available on steam too. I'm not that hype about it though since I have to finish revelations.

I write a lot of data too but on 128gb I feel like I'm always checking my space and have never put my games on the SSD. I've created partitions to try out windows 8 before I bought it so that was fast as hell compared to my platter drive. I'm just deciding if 256 will be good for me since only the os is on there plus drivers and all efficiency apps. Before you know it I'll want a 512gb and at that point I may quit using the 1tb drive frequently.

Really stupid, how are they expecting that to sell SSD's? They don't even mention what they are.

It's not really an "official" advertisement. It's Overly Attached Girlfriend doing a song about it and Samsung gave it their seal of approval. It's different but kind of catchy.
