Copy Drives

If I bought a new HDD and wanted to move EVERYTHING from my current HDD to the new one, how could I do it if it is even possible? I want the new HDD to have exactly every file and configuration from my old one (meaning I don't have to reinstall programs and such).

Well you can download Western Digital Lifeguard tools from their website or Maxtor's version from their website. Both will let you setup a drive and do a drive to drive copy.

I heard that there were some issues with Maxtor and WD cloning software. That's why I use Ghost and I've never had any issues with it, worked like a charm every single time.

Got mine on eBay for $10 long time ago, 2004 I believe.

I've used the Maxtor software with no issues; I've also used a freebie that works (slowly) through the DOS menu called PCCloneMaxx (I think). I've had good results with both.
