If the latest industry whispers are to be believed, development kits for the PlayStation 4 are currently being sent to game studios, ahead of a formal announcement at E3 2013.
Sony's next-generation console, codenamed Orbis, aims to spit out 1080p games in 3D at 60 frames per second with "no problem" at all. It will be powered by a combined CPU and GPU based on AMD's A10 APU series, and will contain a Blu-ray drive.

We've all heard these rumors of Sony's next console housing an AMD A10 chip, but AMD on Facebook posted this themselves and I believe this is a legitimate page because It shows all of the signs of being legitimate and has over 1 million likes.
They posted this with "The next generation of gaming platforms seem to have a common component… AMD."
If this is true, then lovely more R&D money for AMD. We can expect better hardware I hope.
i don't buy into a lot of these rumors but this seems legitimate, hopefully they'll throw in another GPU as well for extra capabilities such as GPGPU.
Sony and Nintendo have gone to AMD because It's a lot cheaper than IBM and Intel, and this is great for the console which had a hefty price tag.
I say we should expect this to be around 3-4x stronger than the current PS3 as posters such as "Lordikon" and some others have said, If I can find your name I'll put you in the thread also.
This hasn't been officially confirmed but AMD's seemingly legitimate Facebook page has said It themselves.

4D: Length, Width, Depth and Time. Never heard the 1080p promise.
