Pitcairn Pro is around 20x Xenos and RSX in Shader and Fillrates... Probably significantly more, I don't feel like looking.

The good thing about everyone going AMD is that it should minimize the horrid console ports we get on PC and should help keep developers in line and avoid another GTA IV fiasco........

And hopefully also eliminate the Red Dead Redemption fiasco and help us get ports for games we actually want. sad-smiley-002.gif It would've been great on the PC too...........

Try again rolleyes.gif

And my dispute is people throwing wrong information around, Here you go I made you a list..

RSX

24 TMU's
16 ROPS
6.88 GPixel/s
10.3 GTexel/s
19.2 GB/s

7660D ( GPU inside the A10 5800K )

24 TMU's
8 ROPS
2.7 GPixel/s
16.2 GTexel/s
29.9 GB/s

HD 6670 ( Rumoured to be working along side the 7660D )

24 TMU's
8 ROPS
6.4 GPixel/s
19.2 GTexel/s
64.0 GB/s
66w TDP

7660D + 6670

48 TMU's - x2 over RSX
16 ROPS - x0 over RSX
9.1 GPixel/s - x0.32 over RSX
35.4 GTexel/s - x3.4 over RSX
93.9 GB/s - x4.8 over RSX

7660D + 7850

88 TMU's - x3.6 over RSX
40 ROPS - x2.5 over RSX
30.2 GPixel/s - x4.3 over RSX
71.2 GTexel/s - x6.9 over RSX
183.5 GB/s - x9.5 over RSX

Where is this 20x you speak of?
Wait, I don't quite understand. Can an APU (which as I understand is a CPU with a graphics chip on the inside) be paired with any dedicated GPU on the AMD side? (ie 7850 that is mentioned here?) because I thought that in order to pair the graphics chip on the A10 to a dedicated card, the dedicated card would have to be a 6670.

Or maybe I'm just confused.

Not on PC but It can in the console world because of them being closed boxes....

Hardware when used in a console doesn't have to follow PC hardware rules.

I think that is just a limitation of the PC chipsets. It won't pertain to a console. When you are building a system that you know all the variables you can make nearly anything work. They probably could pair up an A10 with a Nvidia GPU if they wanted and still keep the full functionality of the APU.

You have to take into account that these chips will be custom made for each system, so while looking at them from the PC point of view and knowing that a 6670 cannot CF with a 7850 that's not really the right way to look at it. Even the RSX on the PS3 was a modified 7800 GTX , so expect the new consoles to bring in weird hybrids or something.

Not really, they just reduced the clock speed by 50Mhz and half the memory bus from 256bit to 128bit... hardly custom smile.gif

Yeah I know, I just found the fillrate numbers for them. I thought it was much higher. However, that doesn't take into account the architecture improvements and efficiency... The numbers you listed are just crude extrapolations

Also, Shader is more than 20x. You didn't seem to compare that in your little chart. Its all speculation until we have real proof, so people will continue give their opinion..

Edit: Some of your numbers are completely off. Talk about throwing around misinformation and its irrelevant without clock speed.
