Idk if the money lost switching would be worth it for the performance, maybe if you could find someone to trade with and do a clean swap for a 7950 or 7970 +$50 bucks cash or something.

The 670 is still beastly and a few months ago was the best bang for buck card, plus with those clocks it's a very nice card and a great EVGA cooler. I think stick with it and if you really want to switch I say sell right before Christmas then maybe wait it out with your 570 for the 8970/8950 that appear to be out either on Feb or maybe sooner.

I actually didnt choose that voltage it was the number 2 profile in GPU tweak. I dont have time to actually do the OCing and testing until tomorrow. I didnt lose money really as I had to sell my 680 awhile back to pay some bills while I was in a crappy job. Now I work in a very nice place with good money so I wanted to jump back to a top card. I also just bought a 2560x1440 overlord monitor and it looks great. Looking forward to pushing the limits of the GPU with this monitor.

I personally would not upgrade from 670 -> 7970 - theyre still in the same class. I would wait till next gen 8xxx or 7xx.

670 is plenty fast no?

The 670 is a great card, Im just looking to pick up a few more fps in the minimum range for bf3 multiplayer on a 120hz monitor (edit: its more for the experience of 670 vs 7970 rather than need, 670 is a perfect match for 1080 bf3 ultra with msaa off in 120hz, or msaa on in 60hz). Well the reasons stated is why I havent upgraded yet, the gains would be so marginal I havent felt like doing it yet. Other hobbies are begging for that cash lol

Ya i figured out how to unlock the core speed from the voltage...now im at 1265/1775 stable with both fans at 60%, 65C max in Crysis 2.

Voltage is 1.3v (default 1.25v)

Not sure if i want to go for 1300mhz..will probably have to push the voltage to 1.35v and have both fans going at least 80%. Luckily the computer is in another room so 60% is fine for me.

not worth pushing beyond 1.3v for another 35 Mhz .in fact if you can hit 1200 Mhz at stock voltage 1.25v thats better in the long term. The last 50 - 100 Mhz over 1200 Mhz for Tahiti come at a significant power, heat and noise cost.
