Logitech G500

Thread Starter
Hi, i just today bought a G500 with the Steelseries QcK+ pad
Ive been messing around with the settings in setpoint and gotten to a pretty descent result so far

im playing lot of CS:S CS:GO and want a low mouse sensitivity
been trying low dpi-higher sens, high dpi-low sens at 1000hz polling
the issue is when moving fast its jamming, jumping?
and also when moving towards any corner of screen its jamming, but at a straight horizontal and vertical its smooth

anyone know what might be causing this?

thx

Looks like you have angle snapping enabled on the drivers. Look at the pointer settings and disable it.
If that's not the issue I think it might have to do something with the cloth pad you're using, although I've tried the G500 in a normal QcK without issues.

Try 500mhz polling? Also isnt the G500 using the avago 9500 laser, because im sure I read that they struggle on some cloth pads, I know my avago 9500 mouse didnt like them much

I use a belkin gel wrist pad thing, its square like and wasn't expensive and works just great on there.

Really, I'd advise you to use another mouse for low sens, I tried the G500 and its accel was a pain in the ass for me. Better go for the G400, it's also great on any cloth pad.

If you still want to keep the G500 the only hardpad that was large enough for me was the QPad HeatoN, which is huge. But it comes with all the downsides of a hardpad, like noise, wear on your mousefeet etc. Some other hardpads might be in the 300x300 range though, I think the QcK 9HD is (320x2xx something, I think it was 280)

I'm currently using the G500 for some games in a Puretrack Talent Stealth. Works wonders.

I think cloth pads with high friction tend to have "longer hair" that inferferes with the laser sensor, while low friction cloth pads (like the Talent or the White-Ra) have a non-hairy smooth synthetic surface.

The G500 is a good mouse on a variety of surfaces, with a good pair of skates it works great on my SS 5L and Razer Scarab and does very well on my Goliathus (just a bit of drag). The only problem I have with it would be the cheap-ish feet and the scroll button could be a bit stiffer so I can use it as a button. Right now my G500 is for general desktop duties while my CM Spawn is for everything else.
