All you would need to buy for software is Windows... drivers come in the boxes of the hardware you baught. If you want Word/office go buy it or get it on the "net".

yea like everyone said, just a disk of the OS you are using. drivers (which should have came with the hardware itself) and the software u want to use.

what u can also do it right after the fresh install of the OS, after you installed all the correct drivers (but before you install your misc. software) make an image disk of your hard drive. This way, next time when you need to re-install your OS or get a fresh start, you can just use the image disk you made.
