old modem card better than wifi?

I got the z77x-up7 from gigabyte ( awesome board biggrin.gif ) and I only have wifi in my house..
I have found a modem card that's about 10 years old and I was asking myself if that would be faster tongue.gif
does anybody know? still need my gpu until my new build is completed frown.gif
I apologize if I posted this question in the wrong part of the forum.

Modem as in 56k?
Or modem as in NIC?

Either way, if its from 10 years ago I doubt it.

You can buy a 50 foot run of Cat5e cable for $5 on amazon, and a 100 feet for not much more. Plug that in to your Modem/Router and run it using cable mounts(or through the walls to a baseplate).
Better signal, better speed.

this is the question and yeah it will be much slower as i assume you do mean an old 56K internal modem.. also a modem cant be used in interconnecting LAN devices..
use the onboard NIC and run a cable to your wireless router if you want better performance than your wireless..
