I don't have any experience with anything other than basic closed loop all in one systems so I will stick with that for now smile.gif

Sorry to keep bugging you guys, but I play an MMO called Tera and the UI and coding is extremely buggy, that is the reason my room stays warm because of my graphics card, I honestly think that could be one of my issues, if I got something such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835888309, do you think it would help keep the card cooler? Even with my overlay saying the card is running at 40 degrees it feels like a heater tongue.gif.

40 deg C isn't too bad. My 7970 was getting up to 80 deg C in the Guild Wars 2 beta and the fan noise was driving me crazy. It's what drove me to water cooling in the first place.

Yea 40 isn't too bad at all, that is with my fan cranked to about 60% though. I've never seen a game run a GPU like Tera does it's crazy. That is a large amount of heat that's in my case though. Think that PCI slot fan is pointless?

Honestly I've never tried a PCI slot fan. I know they can help exhaust heat from tight areas with bad airflow but other than that I have no practical experience. Full cover GPU block would be the best answer.

But that means open loop.......

Nooooooooo! I'm scared of open loop! lol. The bad thing is the heat is bouncing off of the bottom of the case and going right back up, I have to have the card in that slot due to the other cards I have in other slots :/

Ok, say I did open loop, what is the maintenance actually required on them?
The PCI slot exhaust fan should help out alot. Those things move a decent amount of air.

Most people will tell you that you need to replace the fluid every year, but there are people that say they have run their systems for well over a year with no problems. It probably depends most on what cooling fluid you run. The darling of the day is to run distilled and a kill coil, but it's easier to use premix fluid that contains anti corrosives and biocides. Part of the design of your loop has to be "how am I going to get fluid in and out of the system."

The biggest problem with open loops is that they are time consuming to assemble. You'd have to be able to live without Tera for a day or two to get it put together. I have a backup system that I run while I'm building loops so I don't go into withdrawal.

Without my computer for a day or two? Sigh, there is always the laptop lmao! With Black Ops 2 coming out, I am in a way forced to make videos, so I may wait. It mounts to the cpu as well obviously, will that system work with the new Intel chip coming out in April? Also can you recommend a good system for me that's a good price? smile.gif I have NO clue where I would put the block that is the only issue.

Waiting is good. Best to plan these things out..

Looks like you have a HAF X? I'd estimate you'd need a good 360 Kit. I've seen tons of posts with a 360 at the top of a HAF X.

Here are some examples for pricing:

Kits like these are popular, you just need to verify compatibility with your CPU.
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/16892/ex-wat-220/XSPC_Raystorm_750_RS360_Extreme_Universal_CPU_Water_Cooling_Kit_w_Free_Dead-Water.html?tl=g30c321s1310

One of these would give you a matching GPU block.

Coolant will run you about $15.00
You'll need a couple extra fittings 1/2" $7 (I like bitspower but there are cheaper brands)
Clamps - $5.00

some time
I have heard of people adding GPU's to the higher end closed loops, but I don't know enough about your corsair to even begin there.
Also keep an eye on the for sale section of the boards here. I've got some great deals there.
