If Samocx says so I'd trust his words, he's one of the top ocers out there, and an authority when it comes to ram. Those probably have a different ic (2133) compared to 2000mhz ones, or perhaps better binning which would led to higher clocks when overclocked.
Forget newegg reviews and the like. Also Corsair's customer support is great, so you're ccovered.

Spec if CMT8GX3M2B2133C9 is somewhat strange. Newegg says 9-11-10 in description but picture says 9-11-9. I googled for more pics and half of them are 9-11-10, another half 9-11-9.

I would not buy the Platinum over these GT. Not only are the Platinum more expensive, but they are also rated at higher voltage (1.65V vs 1.5V) which makes memory easier to bin.
In fact, I would not buy either of these models as newegg currently lists 2133C9 rated Vengeance for half the price with same specs.
