Bad CPU?

Thread Starter
What is the best way to check for a bad CPU?
I have the 8150fx.

I'll be editing this post in a few minutes to include my rig's specs

It posts, it works and everything.
By bad, I mean it isn't functioning as it is suppose to be.
Example: with everything set to stock, OCCT/IBT gives me errors.

It may be Memory. Did you try running all the tests with only one stick of RAM ?
Tell us all about your Memory, I mean Brand, DRAM voltage and memory timings.
What motherboard and power supply are you using ?

Here are my parts.
CPU [AMD FX-8150 3.6GHz 8-Core Processor]
Motherboard** | [Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z ATX AM3+ Motherboard]
Memory| [Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory]
Storage| [Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive]
Storage | [Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive]
Storage| [OCZ Agility 3 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk]
Video Card** | [XFX Radeon HD 6990 4GB Video Card]
Power Supply** | [Cooler Master Silent Pro Hybrid 1300W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply]

Memory is running at 9-9-10-9-27 on stack right now, which resets them to that with 1333MHz I believe.

I have ran memtest on it before already.

Sometimes IBT gives error even you've passed memtest.
Try running OCCT/IBT with one slot of RAM. If it passes then run it with two slots.
If both tests pass without an error. Then the problem might be with 4 x 4GB setup.
I don't know if your motherboard shows default timings or not. If it shows in BIOS, Try manually setting the memory timings to default values. And Increase DRAM voltage by 0.05 volts. Now run OCCT/IBT again. And see if it solves or not.

It seems like I have a problematic DIMM. I think I will do some experimenting with my Sabertooth 990fx board when I have days off next.
