Same here I'm tempted, I really am... and this unit keeps going on sale. I wonder how hi you have to leave the fan on to cool the vram. I would only really want to do it if it would be quieter than running my stock GPU fan and 120mm case fan that it would be replacing.

My mod has gone really well. As long as you have decent case flow it should stay cool enough.

I went ahead and ordered two of these for my gtx480s. May have been a mistake with black friday around the corner but as long as they dont go on sale for cheaper than $40 i'll be able to live with myself.

Ordered some dwood brackets as well. My gtx480s are amazing cards and i love them but they are definitely restricted because of heat. At 1125mV and 860 core clock from stock 700 they normally hover around 85-90C while playing bf3. On hot days they get up to 95C+ and will normally crash my computer within 30 mins at that temp. Hoping ill be able to raise the voltage to 1150mV and core to 900 while staying under 75C, at least thats my hope.
