Question on PSU Sleeving

Thread Starter
Hello guys.

I am a little confused on sleeving a PSU with double wires. Are all power supplies double wired? I would really like the nice, even look that Lutro0 shows in his pictures. Sorry for asking a dumb question but I am a complete noob at this kind of stuff.

Thanks.

Depending on the power supply you get some have double wires and some don't. As someone who just sleeved his first double wire (Corsair AX750 has a bunch) I can tell you they're not that hard to do, you just have to take your time (and they do take A LOT of time). Just follow LutroO's double wire guide and you'll be fine.

So all power supplies have these? Some have double wires while other don't? My problem is not that it would take long, but I wouldn't want my cables all over the place:

Thanks for the response!

Are you saying you want to put two wires in one sleeve, or are you talking about double wires where you have 2 wires coming out of one pin on the power supply? Because that's what I'm talking about.

I am talking about where two wires come out of one pin on the PSU. Sorry for not clarifying.

OK so I answered your question before, your power supply might have double wires but I think most of them don't. Just follow the guide and it's not too hard.

Thanks for the help!

However, I don't know which power supply will be easiest to sleeve. I was recommended the SilverStone ST75F-P 750W, but I don't need that many watts and the price is a little too high. Can anyone recommend me anything else?

Why you are using my photo in reference to double wires?

Because I was reading the thread you made and I wanted him to understand what I was saying. Is that not a double wire? Maybe I was confused when reading your thread.

Ah right. No, that photo was a poor attempt to show how the pinout of the Strider series means you'd have to fold each row of wires when mounting the PSU above the motherboard. Double wires is when the cable has two wires going into the same crimp. To use the example of the Strider series, pin 20 goes from the PSU side and joins to pin 13 at the motherboard end. This is used by the PSU to sense and adjust voltage drop. Problem is that it's hard to sleeve than a 1-to-1.
