Asus STX stopped working - stuck trying to solve the issue

My Asus Xonar Essence STX card came today - I still haven't gotten my HE-400 headphones but I wanted to get everything set up before it came.

I installed the card to my first PCI-8 Slot (I'm running SLI so have no free 16 slots) and it does detect it as my Device Manager shows a "C-Media Oxygen HD Audio Device" in PCI Slot 3. So I can assume the computer at least reads the card, and the connect to my psu works fine (Atleast that's what I understand). I also plugged in my front panel audio socket in the card (and removed it from its previous place in the motherboard.

However when I tried to install the drivers I got a "Please plug in Asus Xonar Essence audio device"! message. I did a lot of research, and first downloaded the Xonar unified drivers. I still couldn't download my drivers after doing this.

I then disabled my on-board audio devices from the BIOS, and the two NVIDIA High Definition Audio options in my Device Manager.

It still didn't work.

I then read this and it looks like I have this problem as I have a "PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_878813F6" which is supposed to indicate that problem .

I tried fixing it with the files they had. I found dvd and put the file inside, and then tried booting it but it wouldn't work. Then I found a SD card and turned it into a bootable drive and put the file they had for that and it also didn't work. I then went and bought a burnable DVD and put the file inside, and then tried to boot it with that and it wouldn't work either. All I got was a Black screen with a white _ (The dash was at around the middle vertically while it usually is on the top- although still on the left side of the screen).

Does anyone know what to do? I'm stuck and have no idea how to fix this.
Thanks in advance!

Did you try using the official Asus drivers yet?

Of course, it's the first thing I tried. But I get a "Please plug in Asus Xonar Essence audio device!" message when I attempt to do that which is why I've gone through all this.

Update: I got it to work!

I was having the Xonar EEPROM failure - the fix wasn't working because I was simply burning the iso file inside the disc instead of burning the disc as the ISO heh. Well it works now! Even with my Skullcandy Titan earbuds the sound is already amazing! I can't wait to get my HE-400, I get it tomorrow!
